Verify your source
ShowHub only publishes episodes from a source once you’ve shown it’s yours. Until then the source still syncs: episodes appear in Episodes, but they don’t go on your site. This stops anyone from building a site out of someone else’s channel or podcast.
You only do this once per source. Any one of the methods below is enough.
Where to find it
Open Episodes → Sources . A source that isn’t verified yet shows a yellow Not verified yet badge and a Confirm it’s yours to publish it box. The box only lists the methods that work for that source.
Which methods work for each source
| Source | Sign in | Code in description | Email in description or feed | Team check |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube | Verify with Google | Channel description | Channel description | Yes |
| Twitch | Verify with Twitch | Twitch bio | Twitch bio | Yes |
| TikTok | Verify with TikTok | Yes | ||
| Kick | Kick bio | Kick bio | Yes | |
| RSS, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, SoundCloud | Show description, if the feed has no owner email | The feed’s owner email | Yes | |
| Yes |
Sign in with the account that owns it
The quickest method. Click Verify with Google (YouTube), Verify with Twitch or Verify with TikTok, sign in with the account that owns the source, and allow access. You come back to Sources with a “verified” message and the source starts publishing.
For YouTube there are a few details that trip people up, so it has its own page: Verify a YouTube channel.
Code in your description
No sign-in needed. Use this if you’d rather not connect your account, or if the owning account isn’t one you can sign in with.
Get a code
In the verify box, click Get a code. You get a code like SHOWHUB-4F7K2Q.
Paste it into your description
Paste it anywhere in the description and save. Where that is:
- YouTube: YouTube Studio → Customization → Basic info → Description, then Publish.
- Twitch: Settings → Profile → Bio, then Save Changes.
- Kick: your channel’s bio.
- Podcast feed: the show description at your podcast host.
Check
Back in ShowHub, click Check my channel (or Check my bio / Check my feed). When the code is found, the source is verified and you can delete the code from your description.
Email in your description
ShowHub reads the contact email in your channel description (YouTube, Twitch, Kick) or the owner email in your podcast feed.
- It’s the email you signed up to ShowHub with: the source is verified straight away.
- It’s a different address: ShowHub emails that address. Click Yes, this is my show in that email to verify.
If the email isn’t there yet, add the email you signed up with to your description, save, then click check again in the verify box.
Your podcast’s owner email
For RSS, Apple Podcasts, Spotify and SoundCloud, the email lives in your feed (itunes:owner), not
on the listening app. Set it in your podcast host’s settings, usually under show details or
directory settings. Changes can take up to an hour to reach the feed.
Ask the ShowHub team
If none of the above work, click Ask the ShowHub team to check and tell us anything that shows the source is yours: your website that links to it, an email from the show’s own domain, or where the account links back to you. We usually reply within a day, by email. You can also write to verify@showhubco.com from the email you signed up with.
After you verify
Pages for the episodes that synced while the source was waiting start building straight away, newest first, and new episodes publish as they arrive. The Not verified yet badge changes to Verified.
