DNS Setup

Adding records by hand? Show Hub shows the exact values with copy buttons, labelled the way your provider names its fields. Here’s what they are.

Subdomain (e.g. listen.yourshow.com)

TypeHost / NameValue
CNAMElisten (just the part before your domain)cname.vercel-dns.com

Bare domain (e.g. yourshow.com)

TypeHost / NameValue
A@ (some providers want this blank)76.76.21.21
CNAMEwwwcname.vercel-dns.com

www.yourshow.com redirects to yourshow.com automatically.

Sometimes: an ownership record

If your domain was previously used on another site hosted by our infrastructure provider, Show Hub may ask for one extra TXT record named _vercel to prove you own it. It appears in your record list automatically. Add it like the others.

Optional extras

If you turned on Search Console or email records, you’ll also see:

TypeHostValue
TXT@google-site-verification=…
TXTresend._domainkeyp=… (DKIM key)
MXsendfeedback-smtp.…amazonses.com (priority 10)
TXTsendv=spf1 include:amazonses.com ~all

These are added alongside any existing records. They don’t affect your current email or website.

Propagation

New records usually show up within a few minutes. Replacing an old record can take as long as that record’s TTL, sometimes a few hours. You don’t need to keep the page open: Show Hub keeps checking and emails you when the site is live. To see it spread in real time, use Watch it spread.

Common mistakes

MistakeFix
Entering listen.yourshow.com as the host instead of listenMost providers add your domain automatically. Enter only the part before it.
Leaving an old A, AAAA or CNAME record on the same hostDelete or edit the old record. A host can only point one place.
Cloudflare proxy (orange cloud) enabledSet the record to DNS only (grey cloud). Show Hub issues the certificate.
Domain still has a “parked” or “forwarding” recordRemove URL redirects / parking pages for that host at your registrar.
Typing www as the subdomainUse the bare domain instead. We set up www for you.
