MCP ServerOverview

MCP Server

ShowHub ships an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that lets AI agents set up and manage your podcast site. Connect it to Cursor, Claude Desktop, Windsurf, or any MCP-compatible client and let your agent handle podcast creation, source connections, branding, episodes, and embeds, all without touching the dashboard.

What is MCP?

MCP is an open protocol that lets AI assistants call tools on external services. Instead of copy-pasting IDs and clicking through forms, you describe what you want and the agent does it.

What can the ShowHub MCP do?

Setup & Onboarding

Create a podcast, claim a subdomain, and complete the setup wizard.

Connectors

Connect YouTube, RSS, Spotify, and more. Trigger syncs and disconnect sources.

Branding

Update colors, display name, fonts, templates, and custom CSS.

Episodes

List episodes, toggle visibility, and check transcript status.

Embed Player

Configure themes, get embed snippets, and customize the player look.

Quick example

Tell your agent:

“Set up my podcast on ShowHub. It’s called ‘Tech Unplugged’, the RSS feed is at https://feeds.example.com/tech-unplugged.xml, and I want a dark theme with purple accents.”

The agent will:

  1. Call get_status to check your account.
  2. Call create_podcast with the title and a slug.
  3. Call connect_rss with the feed URL.
  4. Call update_branding with dark mode and purple colors.
  5. Call trigger_sync to import episodes.
  6. Call complete_setup to finish onboarding.

No clicks, no forms, no context-switching.
