YouTube Connector
The YouTube connector imports your channel’s videos as episodes in ShowHub.
Setup
Open connector settings
Go to Dashboard -> Setup -> Connect (or Episodes -> Sources).
Click YouTube
Select the YouTube tile.
Sign in with Google
Use the Google account that manages (or has editor access to) the channel.
Pick your channel
Select the channel from the picker.
Confirm
ShowHub starts the first sync.
Choose which videos sync
Out of the box, ShowHub pulls all channel uploads. To change that, go to Episodes and click YouTube on the sync map at the top of the page. This opens the YouTube settings drawer:
Pick what to pull
- All channel uploads: every public video on the channel.
- One playlist: only the videos in a playlist you pick from the dropdown.
Separate Watch & Listen (optional, Pro and above)
Turn on Separate Watch & Listen if you upload audio-only versions of your episodes to a second playlist. Choose that playlist as the Listen playlist. Videos from it are labelled Listen, everything else Watch, and ShowHub can pair the two versions of an episode so they show as one. Most shows don’t need this. On plans below Pro the toggle shows a lock and the plan you need.
Add filters (optional)
Open Only include… to set Longer than (min), Published after, or Published before. These filters apply to Watch. A minimum length is the easiest way to skip Shorts.
Check the preview
The Preview updates as you change settings. It shows how many videos will sync (out of how many are available) and thumbnails of the first few.
Save & sync
Click Save & sync. ShowHub saves the settings and starts a sync straight away.
Fix the type of a single episode
If a video landed in the wrong playlist, open it from the episode list, go to Media & pairing, and choose Watch or Listen under Shows on your site as. A type you set by hand sticks: later syncs won’t change it. Click Reset to source to go back to the playlist’s type. The same tab lets you pair an episode with its other version, or Unpair it.
To change several at once, tick them in the list and use Mark Watch or Mark Listen.
What gets imported
- Video title, description, and thumbnail.
- Publish date and duration.
- Transcript (on Pro plan and above, auto-generated if YouTube doesn’t provide one).
If you can’t find your channel
Re-authenticating
YouTube OAuth tokens can expire. When that happens, YouTube is outlined in red on the Episodes sync map with a Needs reconnecting note. To fix it:
Open Connectors
Go to Episodes -> Sources.
Click the warning badge
Click the warning on the YouTube connector.
Re-authenticate
Click Re-authenticate and complete the Google sign-in flow.
Sync resumes automatically after re-auth.
Sync frequency
ShowHub checks for new videos periodically. If you just published a video and it’s not showing yet, click Sync now on the Episodes sync map. If it still doesn’t appear, open the YouTube drawer and check that the video matches your playlist and filters in the Preview.
