YouTube Source
Use YouTube as your ShowHub source when you want every published video to become a searchable episode page.
How to sync content from YouTube
Connect your channel
Open Setup Wizard or Connectors, then choose YouTube.
Authenticate with Google
Sign in with the account that owns (or manages) the channel.
Select your channel
Pick the channel and confirm. ShowHub starts the initial import immediately.
Choose which videos sync (optional)
Open Episodes and click YouTube on the sync map. Pick All channel uploads or One playlist, add optional filters, check the Preview, then click Save & sync. Details: YouTube sync settings.
What sync includes
- Video title, description, thumbnail, and publish date.
- Episode page draft generation inside ShowHub.
- Transcript import or generation (based on availability and plan).
Watch & Listen (Pro and above)
If you publish an audio-only version of each episode to a separate YouTube playlist, turn on Separate Watch & Listen in the YouTube drawer and choose that playlist as the Listen playlist. Episodes are labelled Watch or Listen, and the two versions of an episode can be paired so they show as one on your site.
- Pair episodes from the Media & pairing tab of the episode editor, or use Auto-pair / Review pairs above the episode list.
- If a video was uploaded to the wrong playlist, set Watch or Listen by hand in the editor. Your choice survives future syncs until you click Reset to source.
Best practices
- Keep video titles consistent with episode naming conventions.
- Add complete video descriptions so ShowHub pages have richer context.
- Check Episodes after the first sync to verify dates, artwork, and transcript quality.
- Re-authenticate quickly if the connector shows a warning state.
Troubleshooting shortcuts
- Use the detailed YouTube connector guide: Dashboard -> Connectors -> YouTube.
- If new uploads do not appear, click Sync now on the Episodes sync map, then open the YouTube drawer and check the Preview to confirm the video matches your playlist and filters.
- Confirm you authenticated the correct Google account for the channel.
