Setup Wizard

The Setup Wizard walks new workspaces through six steps to go from zero to a live content hub.

Setup Wizard flow inside the dashboard

Finding the wizard

The wizard appears on the dashboard overview when setup is incomplete. You can also access it from Dashboard → Setup at any time.

While setup is incomplete, a warning icon appears in the dashboard top bar. Hover it to see which steps are left; click it to jump back to the wizard.

Until setup is complete, the dashboard overview shows the wizard

The six steps

Welcome

A quick orientation. No action required - click Next to continue.

Domain

Choose how people reach your hub:

  • Free subdomain - yourshow.showhubco.com (available on all plans).
  • Custom domain - bring your own domain (Pro plan and above). See Custom Domain.

Connect

Link a content source. ShowHub currently supports:

  • YouTube - authenticate via Google OAuth, then pick a channel.
  • RSS - paste a feed URL to import episodes.

Branding

Set the visual identity for your hub:

  • Primary color and accent color for buttons, links, and highlights.
  • Background color for the site canvas.
  • Logo upload.

These settings apply across all published pages and the embed player.

Template

Pick a page layout for your episode pages. The number of available templates depends on your plan tier.

Launch

Review a summary of your workspace, then click Launch to make your hub live.

Returning to the wizard

You can re-open the wizard at any time from Dashboard -> Setup. OAuth callback messages (e.g. after connecting YouTube) appear as inline notices when you return.

Before you launch checklist

  • At least one source is connected and healthy.
  • Branding basics (logo, colors, hub name) are set.
  • A page template is selected.
  • You know whether you’re launching on a hosted subdomain or custom domain.

If the wizard seems stuck

  1. Refresh the page and re-open Dashboard -> Setup.
  2. Check the notification bell in the top bar for auth or service errors.
  3. Re-authenticate any connector flagged as expired in Episodes -> Sources.
  4. If domain validation blocks launch, complete the DNS steps in Custom Domain.
